I had a great time speaking to the Boise Editors group this past week.

The workshop was entitled, “Taking the Leap: When to Risk a Bold Move for Writing Success.” (Read more about it on my speaking page.)

It can be hard to know when to take a risk to make your dreams come true. When do you make that big investment in yourself or your education? When should you cut back on your work hours so you have more time to write? When should you bite the bullet and try self publishing?

We answered these questions and more this week. I was impressed with this group’s focus, and some of the members achieved some great insights through the exercises we did.

I look forward to hearing how the risk-taking turns out! For me, personally, the risks I’ve taken have defined my career, and my life.

It’s a big deal, so if you’re considering taking a risk for your creative business sometime in the future, I’d love to help you out. Watch here for updates as I’ll be speaking on this topic again.

Meanwhile, thank you to script doc, ghostwriter, and actor Lance Thompson for his recommendation after the event:

“Colleen Story is a dynamic, insightful, and informative presenter. She has the rare ability to show creative people how they can maximize their efforts, and does so with enthusiasm, charm and effective hands-on techniques. Colleen showed me aspects of my work that I was unaware of, and can now take full advantage of. I recommend her to any writer or creative person who wants to excel.”

And thank you to ghostwriter and editor Cristen Iris for this kind post on Instagram:
