{"id":3630,"date":"2022-03-08T20:00:20","date_gmt":"2022-03-08T20:00:20","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/colleenmstory.com\/story\/?p=3630"},"modified":"2022-03-09T18:34:11","modified_gmt":"2022-03-09T18:34:11","slug":"idaho-winter-roadside-ice-and-snow-scenes","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/colleenmstory.com\/story\/idaho-winter-roadside-ice-and-snow-scenes\/","title":{"rendered":"Idaho Winter Roadside Ice and Snow Scenes"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>For several weeks now, I&#8217;ve wanted to get some pictures of the snow crystal formations alongside the road in my area.<\/p>\n<p>Through the winter, as the plows clear the roads, walls of snow build up along the shoulders.<\/p>\n<p>With time, the snow melts and then refreezes, forming beautiful glass-like shapes.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, by the time I remembered to take my camera on my walk, I was too late! A light snow the night before had covered the crystalline formations.<\/p>\n<p>With its new blanket, the ice look fuzzy rather than glass-like. Oh well. I took some shots anyway.<\/p>\n<p>As I&#8217;m posting this, winter is losing its grip. The temperatures rose rapidly over the past couple of days, melting the formations before they had time to freeze again.<\/p>\n<p>That means I won&#8217;t get another chance to photograph any glass-like structures this year.<\/p>\n<p>But that&#8217;s fine with me.
