It’s a lot of fun to do an event in your home town.

I did that once before when I held a book signing for my novel, Loreena’s Gift. (Read more about that event here.) I got to reconnect with a lot of people I hadn’t seen in years, which made it a fun and rewarding celebration of my novel release.

This time, it was different. Instead of connecting with old friends, I got to meet some new people at the event, and help encourage other talented writers. What a joy!

Western Colorado Writers Have Great Attitudes

The Western Colorado Writer’s Forum hosted a two-for-one event last week for area writers and other creative artists. I taught two classes—one on boosting productivity, and the other on banishing self-doubt.

We had so much fun. The writers and other artists were friendly, open, positive, and excited to move forward in their careers. I enjoyed meeting them all and sharing stories of the writing life.

Group Talk

The board members were super giving, too, bringing homemade treats and fresh fruit to have at break-time. It helped make the whole atmosphere inviting and welcoming.

So here’s a thank you to the group, and I hope to see you all again sometime soon! Meanwhile, happy writing.

  1. What a pleasure to have Colleen visit Grand Junction. Her two-hour presentation was riveting. I never missed a word of it and I could tell from the audience response that the feeling spread throughout the room. Colleen gave us a well-thought-out, effective and practical set of concepts, based in her real experience and in her knowledge of both writing and health. What a pleasure. We all went home with plans to overcome our writing “monsters.” Thank you, Colleen.
